Apparat - Ash/Black Veil
In this day of Royal Hangover, I decided to post a relaxing song.
I’ve never heard of Apparat before (shame on me) but I was bluffed by his vocals. If you want to describe it, the best way is to mix Sigur Ros and Thom York and you’ll get as close as you can from Apparat’s voice. Before doing ambient music he was more into electro but he said that now he was “more interested in designing sounds than beats”.
Listening to Ash/Black veil is really making you peaceful. It is the kind of song you put when you want to enjoy a long bath while eating a double cheeseburger with BBQ sauce (yes, it happens sometimes). You might want to keep an eye on this guy!

RJD2 - Ghostwriter
I first discovered RJD2 when watching Mad Man TV series. Their song A Beautiful Mine is the theme music for the show’s intro. A couple of months ago I was watching the BlackBerry Messenger “BBM” ad on YouTube and heard Ghostwriter, surprisingly it was from the same author, RJD2.
This music producer, singer and musician mixes psychedelic, hip hop and rock in a pretty nice way. Proof is by the number of his tracks that appear in lots of ads, shows, video games, etc.
Ghostwriter, from the album Deadringer, is really a chill out kind of music, perfect to play in any kind of occasions.
